Bernard Madoff’s Liquor Cabinet Auctioned for $41,500

You might remember Bernard Madoff’s Ponzi scheme arrest in 2008, after he cheated thousands of victims out of billions of dollars. While he is serving a 150-year sentence in federal prison in North Carolina many items from his house are being auctioned off and people are willing to spend big bucks for his liquor cabinet collection.

Although Madoff didn’t contain the most sophisticated taste in wines, he did have 262 bottles of French wine and liquor. The most expensive set sold at the auction was 12-bottle case of Chateau Mouton-Rothschild, Vintage 1996 which went for a price of 6,800. Even some bottom shelf bottles, including a set of four mini bar liquor bottles were sold for $300.

Overall, his liquor cabinet was auctioned for over $41,500 and the money will be used toward repayment of the victims in the Madoff fraud.
