This will depend on different factors such as the type of location, number of advertisers and how much you charge each advertiser. We will not state any income earning potential because every location has a different amount of daily traffic.  We do operate our own route and have machines that average 50 uses weekly, some up to 300 uses/month, and some lower. We have had customers claim over $100/week in some locations, though there is never any guaranteed profits with any vending or business. There are additional profits to be made with advertising

Breathalyzer vending machines are becoming popular in certain areas of the country, and will be in your area in the near future, it is just a question of who will be the pioneer in your area! There are several reasons why this much needed product has not been made a normal fixture in every bar establishment.

4. DUI laws weren’t as strict in the recent past as they are today, so the need for a public breathalyzer machine wasn’t as apparent, nor were people concerned as much with drunk driving. DUI laws are becoming evermore strict, and there is NOW a need for this type of service in a bar. Semiconductor Sensors:
Semiconductor sensors “were” the industry standard in vending due to the fact that they are cheaper out of pocket.  They require a ‘sterile air’ environment to have a decent accuracy, like a laboratory where they are made, however, anything but a clean air environment can cause vast inaccuracies. Semiconductor sensors are affected by air quality, so alcohol fumes in the air, smokey bars/night clubs, perfume, cologne, hairspray and other air pollutants are likely to create inaccurate (sometimes vastly inaccurate) readings and cause the sensor to have delays when warming up for use.  In a well ventilated location, they can be okay units, but should never be used for safety. This sensor requires replacement every +/-200-400 uses. The sensor manufacturer that we, and other BAC vending companies use, claim it is good for 1,000+ uses in a sterile air environment, but no bar has sterile air, which brings it closer to 200-400 or less uses. We like to be honest with our customers with some real numbers to expect.  Our semiconductor units are upgradeable to fuel Cell.

Fuel Cell Sensors:

Fuel Cell Sensors are among the best and most accurate sensors available, and the only one of the two that is used by law enforcement to ensure the most accurate readings.  Our Fuel Cell Sensors are German engineered using Platinum Fuel Cell Technology. Fuel cell sensors can cost as little as $1/year to maintain with regular calibration, the fuel cell sensor ensures high accuracy results as long as you keep them calibrated. Calibration is push button and takes about 60 seconds. Our fuel cell sensors can last 3-5 years before needing to be replaced (15-20 times longer than the average semiconductor sensor). You can save thousands with a fuel cell sensor versus a semiconductor over the life of the machine. With high accurate results you will also find more repeat users and an overall more profitable machine.
