Do we really need to do a study that confirms a correlation between drinking and movies and teen binge drinking?
A study in the journal of pediatrics studied over 16,000 students from the ages of 10 to 16. They were then shown a list of 50 movies and asked which the had seen. The scientists then counted the number of times alcohol appeared in the movies.
In short, there was a heavy correlation between viewing movies with scenes containing alcohol, and instances of bing drinking. Not surprising.
More interesting was that this correlation spanned across the globe, with the exception of Iceland.
