Native Americans of the South Dakota’s Pine Ridge Indian Reservation are suing major beer makings, asking for 500 million dollars to cover the cost of health care related to alcoholism. The lawsuit also names four beer stores in Whiteclay, Nebraska, a small town that despite only containing a few dozen people sold 5 million cans of beer in 2010.
The suit blames the beer stores in Whiteclay for the chronic alcohol abuse, stating that they sell the beer to the people, despite alcohol being banned at the reservation. It also states that these stores were supplied with far more alcohol than is permissisable in any state.
Who’s to blame here? Anyone?
